Consumer Prices Indices in Banten Province

Abstract

In September 2023, the combined year on year (yoy) inflation for the 3 cities will be 2.04 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.14. The highest yoy inflation occurred in Cilegon Municipality at 2.47 percent with a CPI of 118.41. Next in Serang was 2.09 percent with a CPI of 119.40. The lowest inflation occurred in Tangerang Municipality at 1.97 percent with a CPI of 113.86.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index for 11 expenditure groups, namely the personal care and other services group by 4.18 percent; food, beverage and tobacco group at 3.34 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group at 2.52 percent; health group by 1.81 percent; transportation group by 1.46 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.30 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 1.25 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.19 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.16 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.87 percent; education group of 0.56 percent.
The month to month (mtm) inflation rate for September 2023 was 0.22 percent and the year to date (ytd) inflation rate for September 2023 was 1.81 percent.
